APOAI 2026 Competition Regulations
The APOAI Regulations define the general framework, structure, and governance of the Asia-Pacific Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence. They provide guidance on participation, organisation, responsibilities, and the overall conduct of the competition. The Regulations are developed by the APOAI International Organising Committee and will be updated as the competition evolves.
Detailed implementation guidelines will be released no later than 15 May 2026.
  • Eligibility
Participation in APOAI is open to secondary school students nominated by their respective countries or regions. Each participating country or region may nominate up to 8 official contestants. Individual participation is not permitted; all contestants must be selected through local processes organized by the Local Organiser.
  • Competition Format
  1. Duration: 6 hours (continuous window)
  2. Tasks: 4 independent AI tasks aligned with the IOAI Syllabus
  3. Task Language: Official task statements are provided in English only. Translation of tasks is the sole responsibility of the participating national team; the APOAI Scientific Committee (SC) does not provide official translation services.
  4. Synchronisation: All contestants worldwide start and end the contest at the same official time (UTC+8). No extra time is granted for time zone differences.
  5. Nature: Online synchronised individual competition. No team collaboration; all results are calculated on an individual basis. Medal allocations are solely based on the results of this Individual Contest.
